ODBC error

Postby edpmvl » Tue Nov 22, 2011 6:34 am

Hi Pavel

We experience a problem with sending email notifications form CQ 7.1 and Email Notification Package 1.4
The emailrule is very simple with only 1 recordfield reference in the msg_header. De dbwin32-window shows the content of this field as part of the header by the way. Also the content of the MSg_Body is okay. Then the error below is displayed.

6212: >>EN_Notify() error:
6212: >>SQLSetConnectOption SQL_AUTOCOMMIT: RETCODE=-1, State=S1011, Native Error=72
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Attribute cannot be set now at (eval 1) line 725.

Since it looks like an ODBC error you might not be the right person to ask, but maybe there are known issues with the package and MS Access ODBC Drivers you can inform us about.
Thanks in advance for any reply.

Kind regards
Marjon van der Linden

First of all, version 1.4 has some serious bugs. Please upgrade to 1.5 when it would be possible.

This error was never seen before.
Do you have other notification or commit hooks triggered by the same action? It might be that these hook along with EN_Notify() cause the error.
If you open global hooks in CQ Designer, and go to the line 725, you should see the part of the script where the error is thrown. It might be helpful to identify root cause too.

If the line is identified correctly, the error occurred after SMTP authentication is performed. I tested the package in authenticated mode, and no issue was detected even when access database is used.
It is something that is specific to you environment and/or your schema. It might be that you just hit some of the access database limitation.

Could you try it on a different machine? Could you try it with a different backend database vendor, such as MS SQL, DB2 or Oracle?

Regards,
Pavel
