condition in timed notification rule

Postby meelena » Mon Sep 06, 2010 7:15 am

Hi Pavel, at first thank you for your great work,

I have a question regarding timed notification rules.

How to implement the following rule - send email to responsible person when record is in defined state more than 2 days?
I don't khow how to get the access to the last modification date of the record.
when I'm using $history.action_timestamp validation returns me en error

thank you

You cannot use history field as reference.

If you do not have a field in the record that holds the latest state change action timestamp, there are two options:
1) you can create a user defined function that would return the latest state change action timestamp or age in the current state.
2) you can use SQL to query history table and return latest state change action timestamp or difference between current date and that date.
You can find some examples of SQL-based approach in the 2006's CCMA43 presentation.

Regards,
Pavel
